Clubhouse Dialogue: “I am not Your Akata”
Hosted by Kongasa Bar and First Gen Camer, attendees participated in a live virtual discussion themed “I am not your Akata”, in May 2021. Attendees from across the globe dissected the true definition of the word, its miss use and the impact on one’s identity when labeled an “akata”. The conversation allowed Cameroonians, regardless of birthplace, to share personal perspectives ultimately leading to unification on the topic. This event was moderated by Fei Mofor.

Noir Noel Holiday Soiree
In December 2021, First Gen Camer held a holiday Soiree in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. During this all black and metallic themed party, attendees enjoyed a cocktail hour and were addressed by Daniel Tse from the Cameroon Advocacy Network. Daniel encouraged the audience to join the movement to affirm migration as a human right and uplift the issues faced by Cameroonians and all Black Migrants. As the evening transitioned, attendees popped bottles and danced the night away. The event was LIT, to say the least. Special Thanks to Famous Lounge for hosting us.
